She talks of her memories of the depression and farm conditions at this time. When she left school she qualified as a nurse in 1936. As well as her social interests, marriage, life in the Winton Community and hobbies, which include antiques and genealogy. Dorothy established and managed the school Canteen at Central Southland College.
